We set out from our countries on November 3rd. The hosts collected us from the airport and we were accommodated at the hotel. After an hour of rest we went to explore the city with the hosts of the meeting. During the walk we saw many beautiful buildings and monuments. We were most impressed by the parliament, which is the second biggest building in the world. Many buildings in Bucharest are based on the style of the architecture of Paris, Romanians even have their own Triumphal Arch.

 

On Monday, November 4th, we went to Barlad. The teachers were driven to the hotel and the students were accomodated at host families of Barlad and Bogdanesti.

 

On Tuesday, November 5th, the meeting was held at school in Barlad. We were welcomed very warmly. We watched art performances of students and we participated in lessons. During the break, we were served typical Romanian dishes. After the break, the students continued lessons, and the teachers met at an international symposium. In the afternoon we visited the Zoo and walked to the Town Park. Then we met up with local writers, librarians and people associated with culture at the V.I.Popa Theatre.

 

On Wednesday, November 6th, we went to Bogdanesti to other Romanian school participating in the project. We saw music performances by local students. Then, we took part in classes and the teachers held a project meeting. After the break, a contest for the logo design was held and a Romanian student's idea won. In the afternoon we met with the mayor of Bogdanesti. At 3 p.m. we went back to Barlad where we saw an exhibition of Marcel Guguianu Pavilion and the Museum of Science and Nature.

 

On Thursday, November 7th, we went on a two-day trip to Iasi / Targ. In Iasi we visited the Palace of Culture and the house of Pagor, which is now a museum of literature. Also, we had a meeting with local writers, publishers and librarians. In the evening we got to the motel. After checking in the hosts organized a barbecue and a feast with traditional and folk music from each country participating in the project.

 

On Friday, November 8th, after breakfast and checking out of the motel we went to visit Neamt Fortress which played a key role as a defense building during the reign of Stefan III. On that day we also saw a bison reserve and the Red Lake in the beautiful scenery of eastern Carpathians. At 10 p.m. we went back to Barlad where we spent the last night before leaving Romania.
